coconut oil post strawberry smoothie bliss balls 10

I was in a real dilemma about what to call this recipe. I wanted to call them Strawberry Smoothie Fat Bombs but my DD insisted that this would totally put people off and so I then went with Strawberry Smoothie Bliss Balls. In the end I tested both headlines so you may find them under fat bombs or bliss balls. It’s good to know that whichever name sticks the flavour of these bliss bombs are amazing and packed with nutrition. And – just for the record, Fat Bombs will not make you fat. In fact fat bombs will help your weight calibrate to the right weight for your body. Healthy fats will help your metabolism burn, boost your energy and give you a clear and focused mind.

If you have bitten the proverbial “bullet” and packed away the sugar cannister or at the least trying to then these fat bombs will help fill a gap. Either the “I’m starving gap, I’m fading gap or I really need something sweet gap”. One of the best ways to feed a tummy that is fasting off sugar is with a good dose of healthy fats. Coconut oil, avocado, butter, cream. Any of these will do but the best IMO is coconut oil. Coconut in all it’s form is very satiating – meaning it will fill you up, burn slowly so you won’t feel hungry within 5 minutes which usually results in a satisfied tummy.

Strawberry and Chia – A nutritional match made in heaven!

Strawberries are a power packed little parcel touting high levels of Vitamin C and Potassium. Chia Seeds – who would’ve thought those tiny seeds could have so much goodness in them. Also high in Potassium, a whopping 407 grams per 100 gram serve, Potassium is a mineral and an electrolyte used by the body for muscle contractions, chemical balance and regulation of heartbeat. Chia seeds are also high in iron, magnesium and calcium.
So when you pop one of these bliss balls or fat bombs as a snack think about the nutrition you are adding to your body. Better than a cherry ripe anyday!

Enjoy these is small quantites!
