Coconut Milk Shampoo
A beautiful shampoo suitable for most hair types. This recipe comes from the book “Coconut Cures” written by Bruce Fife.
- 1 Bar of Coconut Milk Bath Soap – Shave 1 1/2 cups of soap flakes (loosely packed.)
- Essential Oils or lemon juice
- 1 1/2 cups of water
- 1/4 cup of vegetable glycerin
- Plastic squeeze bottle or container to store shampoo in
- Bring the water to the boil. Reduce heat to a very low setting.
- Add the soap flakes and let sit, stirring occasionally, until dissolved.
- Remove from heat and stir in a 1/4 cup of vegetable glycerin.
- Let cool.
- Add the few drops of essential oils or lemon juice. Use just enough to give the shampoo a slight aroma.
- Pour into the squeeze bottle or container.
- The shampoo will be watery.
- For a thicker or thinner shampoo, adjust the amount of soap flakes. Don’t use too much soap or the shampoo will turn into solid soap.
