A beautiful shampoo suitable for most hair types. This recipe comes from the book "Coconut Cures" written by Bruce Fife.
  • 1 Bar of Coconut Milk Bath Soap - Shave 1½ cups of soap flakes (loosely packed).
  • Essential Oils or lemon juice
  • 1½ cups of water
  • ¼ cup of vegetable glycerin
  • Plastic squeeze bottle or container to store shampoo in
  1. Bring the water to the boil. Reduce heat to a very low setting.
  2. Add the soap flakes and let sit, stirring occasionally, until dissolved.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in a ¼ cup of vegetable glycerin.
  4. Let cool.
  5. Add the few drops of essential oils or lemon juice. Use just enough to give the shampoo a slight aroma.
  6. Pour into the squeeze bottle or container.
  7. The shampoo will be watery.
  8. For a thicker or thinner shampoo, adjust the amount of soap flakes. Don't use too much soap or the shampoo will turn into solid soap.
