Make Your Own Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub

While I love going to a great day spa and having head to toe beauty treatments, the down side is that they are way to expensive. So unless someone else is lovingly footing the bill I prefer to make my own.

Make your own coconut oil scrub is as easy as 1.2.3. and you’ll find all or at least most of the ingredients right in your pantry. I made three different scrubs, 2 with brown sugar and 1 with white/castor sugar. While sugar is absolutely no good for your gut or intestines especially if you are suffering with candidiasis or other gut related conditions, it is the best thing for exfoliating the skin and opening up the pores.

Here’s how:

Ingredients: Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Vitamin E Oil, Almond Oil, Brown Sugar, White Sugar or Raw Sugar, Spices (cinnamon, allspice, cloves, ginger, nutmeg) and essential oils.

1. Mix 2 parts sugar to 1 part coconut oil.

2.Mix in spices or essential oils.

3.Store in a glass or plastic container.

Here’s the individual amounts for each body scrub that I made or you can print out the handy recipe card below.

1.Tea-tree or Peppermint hand wash scrub:

1 cup white or castor sugar to 1/4 cup coconut oil and 1/4 cup olive oil.

Add 15-20 drops of tea-tree or peppermint essential oils.

This is a great scrub to have by the sink for after you’ve washed all those dishes. If for some amazing reason that you haven’t washed all those dishes (please share) than it’s a nice hand scrub for anytime of the day.

2.Patchouli Body Scrub:

1 cup brown or raw sugar to 1/2 cup coconut oil and 1 tablespoon almond oil.

15-20 drops Patchouli Essential Oil.

Patchouli oil is known as a stress reliever and antidepressant. It also good for skin treatments such as scars, eczema, cuts and burns. In some Asian countries it’s been used for nausea, fever and headaches. It has a wonderful rich and strong fragrance often used as the base note in many perfumes.

3.Pumpkin Pie Spice Body Scrub:

1 cup brown or raw sugar to 1/2 cup coconut oil and 1 tablespoon Vitamin E oil (approx 6 capsules).

2 teaspoons each cinnamon and ginger.

1 teaspoon each nutmeg, allspice and cloves.

This scrub evokes strong memories of ginger bread, plum pudding, christmas cake and pumpkin pie. You will feel delicious after scrubbing with this one. Almost good enough to eat – although not recommended!
